Fleur Jaune — The pearl of canyoning in Cilaos
Welcome to one of the most beautiful canyons on Reunion Island , a concentrated dose of thrills and breathtaking scenery. The Fleur Jaune canyon is a true vertical adventure: aerial rappels , natural slides , jumps , light, panoramic views… all guided by passionate professionals.
Technically accessible, this canyon is ideal for discovering canyoning in Reunion Island . It is open to anyone in reasonable physical condition and eager to explore the volcanic heart of the island…
A gradual descent between rappels and slides , punctuated by small optional jumps.
After just a 10-minute approach walk , the adventure begins. From the very first meters, you plunge into a magnificent gorge, bathed in light, which reveals a series of four spectacular pools , with rappelling slides ranging from 12 to 20 meters.
We use the slide rappel technique, which makes the exercise very easy technically because we only have our hands to manage.
Enough to let yourself drift peacefully along the water!
Sun, verticality and breathtaking views
This sunny canyon often offers magnificent light all morning. Halfway through, the gorge suddenly opens onto a breathtaking panoramic view : facing you, the Piton des Neiges and the cirque of Cilaos.
This is where the highlight of the show takes place: a 55-meter rappel , impressive but technically easy, which can be descended lying on your back, facing the void. An unforgettable moment.
The descent ends with two beautiful rappels of 35m then 20m , before a break to undress and climb back up with dry clothes.
A mountainous and characterful end to the journey
Next, it's time for the climb back up: a small, steep path nicknamed the "goat path" , steep but fun, punctuated by rope sections where arms and legs work together.
The return, nicknamed the “You have to believe” ridge, recalls the atmosphere of an easy mountain climb , but all in all vertigo-inducing: an alpine touch that makes this outing unique and memorable until the last step.
You will then reach the road, just 200m from the vehicles.

World-renowned and recognized, it is for me the purest thing I have ever seen! The perfect canyon with 7 rappels, 7 pools, no walking in the canyon, a large massif, the "Piton de Sucre, split in 2".
The ascent is unique and will not leave you indifferent, a kind of vertical hike, or easy tropical climb...
If you were to do only one canyon in Cilaos, it would be Fleur Jaune, without hesitation.
A complete, varied, sunny, aesthetic and panoramic canyon!
